The main thing about signage is that you want it to be noticed. Otherwise, you may wonder why make that effort to create a brand logo and name, only for people to walk on by and not take any notice.

You may wonder how best to make sure that you can make sure that your signs are noticed. The answer that is staring you right in the face is to light them up.

The thing about illuminated signage is that there is more to think about than just a simple light behind them. So, to help you to know all there is to know about lighting up your signage, we have put together our guide to some of the key ways to approach it.

The Face Style

If you want to make sure that your signage has the best impact possible, then you are going to want to opt for the Face Style of illuminating. In order to achieve this, you will need to use an acrylic face letter with LEDS inside the letter. This will create letters which are individually illuminated evenly. You can choose from a variety of colours for the letters and they could either be rimless or rime and return if you prefer.

The Halo Style

A popular way to illuminate letters on your signage is with the Halo Style. This is where the letters or the logo is solid and then the light is behind the letters. The light will bounce off of the wall and this means that against the solid letters it creates a halo style glow. Many people choose this form of illumination if they want a subtle but great looking effect and you will often see this style in reception areas. Best of all, you can have the LED lights a variety of colours, which means that you can make sure that it suits your brand.

The Light Bulb Style

You may think that the lightbulb approach to lettering is a little on the retro side, but for those who want to create a fun look, this is one style that is definitely making a comeback. In these modern times the standard lightbulbs have been replaced with LED light bulbs, which means that the costs of running the lights is lower and also the LED light bulbs are not going to need to be replaced as much.

The Return Style

With the Return Style of lettering, you will first need to use an acrylic letter which features a solid coloured face. This letter is illuminated and through the solid top, the light is blocked out. You don’t see this particular style that often, which means that if you want to stand out then it is a good idea to go for this style. If you choose this style you will be able to choose from a number of materials and colours, which can fit in with your own branding.

The Neon Style

Finally, we have another retro style, the neon sign. Neon signs have definitely been thought of as more of a decorative item than an approach to signage, however, it can work really well. Thanks to the good old LED lights, you can have neon signs that are cheap to run but that still looks really effective too.

As you can see, there are plenty of ways that you can try and make sure that your signage stands out. So, why not light it up and see just how many heads that you can turn when you do?
